Learning Analytics Privacy Statement
Geoversity is committed to constantly improving your learning experience. As part of our quality assurance process, learning analytics are used to understand what types of learning material and structures best support the learning experience. The pseudonymised data will help improve learning design choices in this and other courses that will be part of Geoversity in the future.
The data gathered for learning analytics does not affect your grading or participation in the course. You are also welcome to contact Geoversity support (info@geoversity.io) at any time to request your information be deleted.
Data collection and processing
For learning analytics, we will collect the following data:
- Name (registered on Geoversity.io, to identify your data)
- Email address (as registered on Geoversity.io, to be able to contact you)
- Activity interactions:
- Views
- Marks
- Completion
- Timing
- Patterns of movement through activities
We will process data about your interaction with the content. We will pseudonymise the data as the data is received and use this data to generate visualisations that will be used for reporting on this course. These visualisations will be used within and outside of the UT.
The pseudonymised data for research purposes will not be stored for longer than necessary to improve our education and research how the changes we make impact the quality of our education. The data will be stored and processed with our partner Veracity, with whom we have a data processing agreement.
Rights, privacy and security
As per the GDPR you have rights concerning data gathered about you, including:
- Right to information
- Right of access
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object
- Right to human intervention in decision-making processes
